Smile Design

MR. YAVUZ CLINIC

Smile design is the application of dentistry and art together to provide a smile that is special to the face. First of all, a healthy smile plan is made together with your personal wishes and the recommendations of your physician. Smile design; it is planned according to your age, gender, face shape, profession and character. The most important point of smile design is that your smile is restructured by protecting your health and naturalness. When starting the smile design, it is first determined which geometric shape your face line fits. Because the lines on the person’s face give the passwords of what form the tooth should be in. The anatomy of men and women is completely different from each other. In women, the transitions are softer, while the nose and eyebrow arches are also fainter. In men, facial features are seen more sharply and prominently. The ratio of forehead, nose and jaw tip differs with the faces of women. In females, the corners of the teeth are softer, and the two teeth in the middle are longer than the teeth on the side. There are also tiny gaps between the corners of the neighboring teeth. In addition, the laughter line shows an upward curve. In men, the lines of the teeth are more pronounced and the neighboring teeth are seen as more flat. In addition, the line of laughter in men comes in a straighter way than in women. Thanks to the smile design, you can get healthier teeth in all respects.

Generally, smile expressions are divided into three. The first is the attractive smile, the second is the intellectual smile, and the third is the sporty smile. For attractive smiles, the front teeth need to be noticeably longer than the side teeth. Designing your front teeth in this way gives you a young, dynamic and attractive smile. For intellectual laughter, teeth lined up on a straight line are required. This smile gives your face a mature and knowledgeable expression. With a sporty smile, your middle incisors should be slightly longer than the side cutters. This smile will give you a heartfelt, unusual and warm expression.

It is aimed to prevent the old appearance caused by missing teeth due to tooth coloration, single or several teeth being located in different alignments or positions from each other, removing gaps caused by missing teeth, eliminating the disproportionate amount of teeth and gums that appear, preventing incompatible gum lengths on the lips, and collapsing of the face and lips. Since all these problems will cause deterioration in the aesthetic appearance of the patient, it is aimed to eliminate all of them with smile design.

Smile design is determined by the position and condition of the tooth. Treatments such as tooth lengthening, tooth shortening, correcting the shape of the tooth, thinning and thickening according to the position of the tooth, correcting the gingival cavities, flattening the tooth surface layer and corner design, namely squaring, sharpening, rounding, filing are performed.

Age, gender, lips, facial features, skin color, alignment of teeth and gums are among the factors affecting this process when determining a personalized smile design.

After determining the treatment to be done by considering the current dental condition and oral health of the person, the number of sessions to be performed will be determined accordingly. While the treatment can be concluded in 1 session, it can also be concluded in a few weeks.

ZIRCONIUM
Zirconium veneers are one of the most popular materials for Hollywood Smile. The reason is that they have superior toughness and fatigue resistance. At the same time, they are made to mimic the reel teeth as a look and feel. So, they can help you to fill in your smiles. Zirconia can be easily modified, reshaped, and recolored according to your demands. Since it does not contain metal, it is suitable for patients who have metal allergies.

PORCELAIN VENEERS
A porcelain veneer is a thin shell that is customized to fit natural teeth. Porcelain results last more than composite resin results. Besides, porcelain gives a natural appearance to teeth, and it is anti-smudge.

Porcelain veneers are designed based on impressions your dentist takes of your teeth. Therefore you can anticipate the contouring and color of the porcelain shell to stimulate your natural tooth enamel. Not only do porcelain veneers resemble natural, but they also feel natural.

With proper care, you can expect your dental veneers to remain between 10 and 15 years. While porcelain veneers are long-lasting and stain-resistant, you still need to care for them as you would natural teeth.

COMPOSITE RESIN VENEERS
Composite resins are made from the same material as dental fillings. Composites resins’ application is straightforward. However, their adjustment to match specific features of shape and shade can be a challenge. In nature, composite veneers feel more like plastic.

Composite resins can recover even many large defects in teeth caused by decay or trauma with little structural removal with the implementation of more strong bonding materials and remain long-lasting.

Most composite resin restorations are single-visit procedures. Unlike porcelain restorations, applying composite resin does not require a dental lab, a process that can take multiple appointments. In most situations, a skilled dentist can implement them during a single visit.

For young injured teeth, composite resins can be an effective temporary fix. Composite resin can restore the young tooth’s shape and function until it’s ready for a permanent solution.

LUMINEERS
Lumineers are a sort of dental veneer that comes in the formation of ultra-slim shells and is typically partly transparent. The dimensions of lumineers, because of their comparatively light build, do not include the filling of the enamel layer as a necessary part of the procedure. Hence, for those who do not want or are not keen on scraping off a layer of the enamel to fix their teeth’ aesthetic look, lumineers can be a choice.

Lumineers are constructed of porcelain material, which is concrete but thin. They are almost as thick as a contact lens. This thickness implies that even without attempting to remove any enamel, lumineers can be located right over your natural teeth.
Building on the previous benefit, no numbing or drilling is required of lumineers. A dental drill to trim the teeth is needed for conventional veneer preparation, which may contribute to making some patients anxious or inconvenient. You will not need to bother thinking about any drilling, needles, or unpleasantness if you want to choose lumineers.
